This is going to be an eventful year for me--well, all years are full of events, but you know what I mean. This year will see the publication of three books I'm connected with. In March, "The Dirty Diner: Gay Erotica on the Menu" will be published by Bold Strokes Books. This restaurant-themed erotica anthology has some marvelous stories by some of the hottest erotica writers today, and even features a story by David Pratt, last year's Lambda Literary Award winner for his most excellent "Bob the Book." The full table of contents? I'm so glad you asked!
"Revealed" by David Pratt
"Supertaster" by Karl Taggart
"Cookie" by Dale Chase
"The Key Ingredient" by Jeffrey Ricker
"Bottom of the Menu" by Steve Berman
"Someone to Lay Down Beside Me" by Todd Gregory
"Wish You Were Here" by Lewis DeSimone
"Herman's Kosher Deli" by Daniel M. Jaffe
"Rick's Greasy (S)poon" by Hank Edwards
"The Finish" by 'Nathan Burgoine
"Christmas Comes to Otters' Gap" by Jeff Mann
"The Cafe Francoise" by Jay Neal
"Mistakes Were Made" by Tristan Cole
"Acquired Taste" by William Holden
"The 25th Blackbird" by Joseph Baneth Allen
"The Munchies" by Rob Rosen
"Sweetbread Inn" by J.D. Barton
That's quite a lineup, and I'm very, very proud to be associated with all these marvelous writers. But that's not all March has in store. I will be at the Rainbow Book Fair in NYC the weekend of March 24th to promote my very first collection of short fiction called "Strawberries and Other Exotic Fruits." to be published by Lethe Press. And as long as I'm divulging tables of contents, hopefully the list of titles for this book will pique your interest as well.
"Strawberries"
"Spider Strands"
"Waafrneeaasuu!!"
"The Fireside Bright"
"Snapshots"
"Changing Planes"
"Love, Sex, Death and the Daily Commute"
"The Telephone Line"
"Templeton's in Love"
"Little Danny's Donuts"
"Cumsmoke"
"You Know You Want To"
"Yuri: A Pride Memoir"
"A Thirst for Talent"
I'm ecstatic about this release, and most especially proud of "A Thirst for Talent," the novella that ends the book. It's my own take on the vampire myth, unique for a couple of reasons. Of course, I'll be in New Orleans in May for Saints and Sinners (no way would I miss late spring in the Quarter) and, perhaps, in NYC again for the Lambda Awards.
Lastly, the hind part of 2012 will find yet another anthology coming out, "Tricks of the Trade: Magical Gay Erotica." Stories are still being submitted for this one - if you're a gay erotica writer and you'd like to see the call, please e-mail me at pfloydian191@hotmail.com and I'll be glad to oblige.
May your 2012 shape up to be everything you want it to. And if you have a queer book coming out, don't forget to contact either me or Bill Holden at www.outinprint.net to put it in queue for review. Thanks to all of you for your continued support. As Duke Ellington used to say at the close of his concerts, "We love you madly."
